Our Minister
Tommy TidwellTommy Tidwell became a Christian on April 11, 1974. He preached his first sermon about nine months after his baptism and has been preaching ever since. He has preached in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia, with the majority of his time being in Georgia at three congregations (Bowdon, Cordele and Clarkdale/South Cobb). He has been at South Cobb for 28 years as a preacher and has served as an elder for many years.
He attended college at the University of North Alabama, International Bible College in Florence, AL.(AA), and Magnolia Bible College (BA) in Mississippi. He received his master’s degree from Heritage Christian University in 2007.
He worked as a Director for one week of Camp Inagehi in Douglasville, GA, for many years. He has been teaching at Georgia School of Preaching, Marietta and Villa Rica campuses, for many years. He currently serves as Director of the GSOP at Marietta and is chairman of the steering committee for the future of the school.
He married LaRheasa on August 9, 1980, and his three sons (Christopher, Shane and Brandon) are all the pride of his life. He has three wonderful daughters in law (Dodie, Cynthia and Brittany). He has been blessed by God with eight grandchildren – Drake, Asher, Emery, Aliya, Aubree, Bailee, Berkley, and Corah.
Tommy is grateful to God for his grace that allows him to teach and preach God’s word.
Our Associate Minister
Howard OdomHoward Odom was born into a family of preachers and raised in the church. He graduated from the Memphis School of Preaching in 2010 with a bachelor’s equivalent in Bible. He studied at Amridge University and obtained a B.S. in Ministry/Bible.
Howard has sixteen years of preaching experience; his most recent position was with the Mountain Country Church of Christ in Pinetop, AZ. Additionally, he was the pulpit minister in Show Low, AZ, Chatom, AL, and Hampton, Va. He has spoken at numerous Lectureships and Gospel meetings throughout the states and participated in mission work in Jamaica.
Howard and his wife, Amanda, have a 35-month-old son named Roman. Howard’s interests include: God, cooking, sports, spending time with family and friends, reading, and traveling.
